Indira van 't Klooster (NL, founder)

Indira is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the A10 new European Cooperative. She has headed the A10 editorial team since 2012. Her books include Forty and Famous - 10 interviews with succesful young European architects (2016) and Reactivate! Innovating Dutch architecture (2013). She has been part of the many events and prizes all over Europe, including the Media Architecture Prize (Hungary, 2014/2016), the Young Italian Award (2014/2016), the Architect of the Year Award (Estonia, 2015), the Maaskant Prize (Netherlands, 2014), the Doolan Prize (Scotland, 2013) and many more. She also works for Architectuur Lokaal, a foundation that promotes good clientship in The Netherlands. She has been a guest lecturer at the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam since 2003.

Freek Dech (NL, founder)

Freek is co-founder of the A10 new European architecture Cooperative. After starting his career as a management trainee at Fortis, he has built up a diverse work portfolio in a number of industries. Key words are finance, software and architecture. As a managing partner of Soops Investments he has been responsible for the international roll out of software suites that enable the exchange trade of electricity and gas. He continues to manage Soops Investment's portfolio of VC investments. Apart from that Freek is an equity partner in XO-projects. XO-projects an architectural firm currently based in Melbourne it is the joint venture between Elastik and Elenberg Fraser. Working from a solid background in law and economics, he is able to construct commercial business models that are interesting for both private, and institutional investors.

 

Ruta Leitaneite (LT) Ruta is our architecture critic, publicist, writer from Lithuania.  She works at the Architects Association of Lithuania (AAL) as a Creative director. She is an organizer of various architectural events: architecture exhibitions, lectures, workshops, architectural competitions and curator of the official website of AAL. She’s a host of a bi-weekly radio program “An architect is required” (broadcast on Ziniu radijas, Lithuania). Specifically interested in cross-disciplinary thinking in architecture, design, and art, she has authored several books exploring these subjects. Published books include: “Lumitecture” and “Furnitecture” (2015 and 2014, Thames & Hudson); “Phase: the Architecture of Jakob+MacFarlane” (2013, AADCU), and “Eske Rex: Silent Action” (2013).

And he is a nominatorg for the European Union Prize for Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award 2015. He has been a member ofjuries in various architectural competitions in Poland and abroad – including the European Architectural Competition Europan, and the Competition for the best architectural designs and built objects in Lithuania 2008-2009. He also writes for the Polish architectural monthly Architektura-murator.
